The participant list and agenda for the “International Conference on Jerusalem”, taking place today and tomorrow in Qatar, reveals that the participants represents an unprecedented coalition arrayed against Israel that includes representatives of the:
- Global Muslim Brotherhood/Hamas (including the head of a U.S. Muslim Brotherhood group)
- Palestinian Authority
- United Nations
- Arab League
- OIC
as well as EU-country politicians, U.S. and European academics, Arab and Turkish diplomats, Iranian Holocaust deniers, a cult of Jewish rabbis who also have supported holocaust denial and called for the destruction of Israel, representatives of far-left political groups, and at least one individual tied to both the European far-right and far-left. This complete list is far too long to be comprehensively analyzed but includes the following individuals of particular interest who are tied to the Global Muslim Brotherhood, all with varying histories of anti-Semitism as well as anti-Israel incitement:
- Yosif Alqaradawi (aka Youssef Qaradawi, most important leader of the Global Muslim Brotherhood, “spiritual patron” of Hamas)
- Mohammad Akram Adaloni (aka Mohammad Akram Al-Adlouni, associate of Youssef Qaradawi and author of a U.S. Muslim Brotherhood document calling for the Islamic takeover of the United States)
- Raed Salah (head of the Israeli Muslim Brotherhood, close to Hamas)
- Ismail Patel (Friends of Al-Aqsa U.K, close to UK Muslim Brotherhood)
- Arfat Shokry (aka Arafat Shukri, trustee of the Palestine Return Center (PRC), part of the UK Hamas/Muslim Brotherhood structure)
- Nehad Awwad Hammad (aka Niwad Awad, head of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), part of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood)
- Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss (Associate Director, Neturei Karta International (Jews United Against Zionism), close to Youssef Qaradawi
In addition to Naturei Karta, the conference list includes three representatives of the Iranian-based Nada Institution for Political & Scientific Studies & Researches (aka Neda Institute) with long-standing ties and support of the global Holocaust Denial movement. In 2005, the Neda managing director wrote a letter of support to a notorious Fench Holocaust denier offering the organization’s support “for organising an international conference on revisionism.”
Another interesting individual listed as attending is German national Hans Kochler, President of the International Progress Organization (I.P.O). As detailed in a Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs report, Dr. Kochler has ties both to the extreme left and extreme right. Dr. Kochler, as well as conference attendee and former U.N. coordinator Han Sponeck, was highly active in various “red/brown” coalitions that sprung up to posed the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq.
The conference agenda indicates that this esteemed group is being addressed in the opening session by:
- H. Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar
- Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine
- Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (U.S. represented at the OIC by Special Envoy)
- Nabil Abdullah Al Arabi, Secretary General of the League of Arab States
- HE. Robert Serry, United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process representing United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon
- HE. Abdelilah Benkirane, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Morocco
Also scheduled to address the opening session is Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss, identified above as the Associate Director of the anti-Israeli cult of Jewish rabbis known as Neturei Karta International. The Naturei Karta rabbis appear often appear in the company of Youssef Qaradawi and are usually included to defend against accusations of anti-Semitism.
A Gulf News report discussed the opening of the conference:
February 22, 2012 Manama:
Qatar’s Emir Shaikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani will open the International Conference for the Defence of occupied Jerusalem, to be held in Doha next week.
The conference will include speeches by the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, the Arab League Secretary-General Nabeel Arabi, Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ekme Al Deen Ihsanoglu, and United Nations Coordinator for the peace process in the Middle East Robert Serry. Some 350 figures concerned with the Jerusalem question from Arab, Islamic and foreign countries are expected to attend the conference decided by Resolution 503 issued by the Supreme Council of the Arab League in Sirte, Libya, in March 2010.
The conference, on February 26-27, will feature issues of occupied Jerusalem and international law, history of Jerusalem, Jerusalem and colonies, Israeli violations and civil society organisations, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported. The first theme deals with the legal status of Jerusalem before and after the Israeli occupation, the reality and the future of Jerusalem under occupation, and the status of the holy places under international law. The importance of highlighting the legal status of Jerusalem proves the illegality of the Israeli practices and violations in the holy city.
The second theme emphasises the most important aspects of the Jerusalem issue, including historic dimension and its status among the three monotheistic religions, and the Arab identity of the holy city.
The third theme addresses procedures for the systematic intensification of colony and land confiscation in occupied East Jerusalem and the surrounding areas, as well as the demographic changes from 1967 to 2020, by which Israel aims to establish the Greater Jerusalem. The Conference will tackle ways to rescue Jerusalem, the Arab vision against the Israeli plan, the central role of Jerusalem in Palestinian politics, economy and culture and the protection of the city’s religious, cultural and architectural characteristics.
The fourth theme discusses the role of institutions in the holy city as well as ways to find appropriate measures to activate the contribution of civil society organizations in maintaining the Arab identity in the city. “
