Served as commander of air defence forces since 2005

Air Marshal Reda Mahmoud Hafez Mohamed

Air force commander

Became chief of staff of the air force in 2007 and air marshal in 2008

Vice Admiral Mohab Mamish

Commander in chief of the navy

Graduated in 1971 and trained in the US, UAE, China, Greece and France

General Hassan al-Roueini

Military commander for the Cairo area

The general addressed protesters in Tahrir Square on 11 February, telling them their demands "will be met"
